to use this feature, you must connect both your iOS device and Computer on the same wifi Network. Eg: If your wifi Name is John Smith, the iOS Device and Computer should be on the same device.
- Download VLC Player on your iOS Device
- Open the VLC Player on your iOS Device and Go to the Network Tab
- Check the “Sharing via Wifi” option, you will see an IP Address like (192.168.xx.xx)
- Open Microsoft Edge and type that IP Address in the URL Bar
- You can use the .local domain you see under the IP Address (eg http://john-iphone.local)
- You should Only type using (http) not (https)
- Now go to your Photos folder in your iOS device and select all the files you want to transfer,
- Click on Share button and click “save to files” and tap VLC and click save
- Now go back to VLC Player > Network Tab and refresh the microsoft Edge Browser page.
- Click on the video you would like to Download and it will be downloaded in your Computer/Laptop.
- Note : the downloading option works only in MS Edge and not other browsers.
This method is useful for transferring videos and music files efficiently.
Method 2: Using Send Anywhere
Send Anywhere is yet another app that lets you share your files such as Audio, Video, Photos etc. It is just similar to ShareIT app that used to exist a few years ago. However with Sendanywhere you can transfer your files anywhere in the world and you don’t need to be on the same WIFI like the above VLC Method.
- Download Send Anywhere on your iPhone / iPad
- Click on Send option and select the files you want to send from your Photos/Gallery
- Once selected click on Send and you will be given a 6 digit code.
- Go to your Browser (firefox, chrome, edge) and open the send anywhere website.
- Click on receive and enter the 6 digit code in the website and your files will start downloading.
Send Anywhere is best method to send files via online without having to connect a cable, the downside is the speed might be slow since it will be downloading via the internet. It all depends on the Internet speed, if you don’t have a fast Internet you can use the next method listed below, which is transferring your files from your iOS devices such as iPad/iPhone to your Computer/Laptop using a Cable.
Method 3: SynciOS File Manager Using Cable
- Download and Install SynciOS File Manager in your PC/Laptop.
- Connect your phone to the PC/Laptop using a Lightning cable
- Once done, open SynciOS and Install SynciOS file manager.
- Once done, open the File Manager and select the type of data you want to transfer (Images, Videos Audio etc)
- Select the list of videos/images and click on download.
- That’s it, your files will start downloading to your computer.
